With a WordPress MultiSite & MarketPress powered site…
…and all Front End forms needed to hide WP Dashboard to everyone but you!
A Step by Step Tutorial
What exactly are we going to do and what do I need to know to start?
Assuming you know what WordPress is, how to set it up and work with it, I’ll start explaining in brief what WordPress Multisite is and why we need it to fully enjoy MarketPress incredible features.
WordPress Multisite is nothing but WordPress! Since version 3.0 it can be setup to host a network of subblogs.
Essentially it’s a group of sites, all sharing the same WordPress installation and domain. You can choose subdomains or subfolders.
Example of subdomains: mysite.com / astore.mysite.com / anotherstore.mysite.com
Example of subdomains: mysite.com /mysite.com/astore / mysite.com/anotherstore
A multisite network can be very similar to your own personal version of WordPress.com where End users can create their own sites on demand, just like end users of WordPress.com can create blogs on demand.
Given that multisite network can also share plugins and themes, if MarketPress is installed and network activated, end user can create ecommerce sites on demand.
Products created in each site of a MultiSite network are displayed in the main site creating a Marketplace where network owner take a % on each sale!!!
How long will it take
Depending on your expertise it can take between 30 minutes and a couple of hours.
